Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the city of Roth
We are delighted that the city of Roth has commissioned us to draw up its Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP). The aim of this project is to make mobility in Roth more environmentally friendly, more efficient and more liveable. In order to improve the mobility of all residents and reduce traffic congestion, various forms of mobility are being networked with each other. This includes measures to reduce noise, harmful air emissions and accident risks. At the same time, health is to be improved through more active movement and social participation, especially for people with health or age-related restrictions. Another positive effect of the project should be the promotion of the economic viability of local retail and catering businesses. Attractive areas should invite people to linger and stroll through, which will increase the quality of life in the city.
The SUMP views mobility as an integrated system consisting of many building blocks. The measures to improve this system are derived in the following five fields of action in particular: Walking, cycling, public transport, car traffic and intermodality. To begin with, an analysis of the existing infrastructure and mobility behaviour will be carried out. To this end, we will conduct both a household survey and public participation via our mitwirken.eu platform. Participants will have the opportunity to locate opportunities and shortcomings on an interactive map - we will also offer this in analogue form at a stand on the marketplace.
Based on this, we will analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of the current transport system. The next step is to develop a mission statement with specific, measurable goals. Measures are derived from these goals and an action plan is drawn up that serves as a roadmap for the coming years.
We are proud to be realising this important project and look forward to working with all stakeholders and the public to improve mobility in Roth in the long term.
